The journey starts at Govindghat, a small town connected by road from Rishikesh or Dehradun. From Govindghat, you’ll trek about 13 kilometers to Ghangaria, the base camp. You can carry your own bags or hire a mule. From Ghangaria, the valley entrance is another 3-4 kilometers walk.
